I started in photography in the early 1980s with a gifted Canon AE-1, which I still have today. I learned to develop my own film with my bathroom darkroom. I eventually moved to digital photography. I have been an avid fan and user of Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom since 2011.
In the beginning, I was a self-guided photographer, meaning I learned from myself and reading. Often in those early days before the social media and internet boom that meant reading actual books and print magazines. In 2016 I completed the professional photographer course through the New York Institute of Photography. During that course work, I learned a great deal about studio lighting, working with models, and people.
